TELL THE REPUBLICANS IN THE STATE LEGISLATURE NOT TO FURTHER RESTRICT REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS
ISSUE: The Republicans in the State Legislature are trying to restrict abortion rights to lower Florida’s current 24-week abortion cutoff threshold by a full month.
If House Bill 351/Senate Bill 744 become law, the state would join just two others - Missouri and Mississippi - that ban abortions after 20 weeks (when many may not even know they are pregnant).
This abortion cut-off should not be shortened by legislators - this decision should be left to pregnant people, together with their families and their medical caregivers.
SCRIPT: My name is xxx and my zip code is xxx. I am a proud member of Palm Beach Indivisibles. I oppose House Bill 341and Senate Bill 744. Legislators should not be meddling in a highly personal medical decision based purely on ideology and political grandstanding, not science. Abortion restrictions already exist. Decisions on health care should be made by those impacted and medical professionals not by the Republicans in the Florida Legislature.
